Guided by Faith & Family
Hi, I’m Laura, the heart behind Five Arrows Hangout. I’m a mother of five, a Christian, and someone who believes that time spent together can become one of the most meaningful gifts we give each other.
The name Five Arrows represents my five children. Being their mom has shaped my heart, my priorities, and the way I see the world. They are the inspiration behind the name and a daily reminder of how precious—and how quickly passing—each season of life can be.
When I think about what I want my children to remember, I think about the moments we shared. The laughter. The conversations. The things we tried together, even when they didn’t turn out quite as planned. Those ordinary moments have a way of becoming the memories we hold closest.
That is part of what inspired Five Arrows Hangout.
A Dream Rooted in Connection
I dreamed of creating a place in Caro where people would have a reason to put down their phones, sit beside one another, and enjoy being together. Somewhere you could bring your children, meet a friend, celebrate something special, or give yourself a little time to do something you enjoy.
Life can get so full of responsibilities that connection becomes something we keep putting off. We tell ourselves we’ll make plans when things settle down or try something new when we have more time. I wanted to create a space that makes those moments a little easier to say yes to.
Maybe you come for a workshop and leave with something you’re proud of. Maybe you find a handmade gift that reminds you of someone you love. Maybe the best part of your visit is a conversation across the table or an afternoon spent laughing with your family.
My hope is that you leave glad you came—and looking forward to coming back.
Guided by Faith
My Christian faith is at the heart of this dream. It shapes how I want to welcome people, care for this business, and serve the community around me.
I believe God has given each of us gifts. Some people create beautiful things with their hands. Others have a gift for teaching, encouraging, listening, or helping someone feel comfortable in a new place. I love the thought of those gifts coming together under one roof.
My prayer for Five Arrows is that it becomes a place where people feel seen and cared for. You may arrive excited to create, a little nervous to try something unfamiliar, or simply grateful for a reason to get out of the house. Wherever you find yourself that day,
I hope you feel welcome here.
You don’t have to share my faith to have a place at the table. I’m glad you’re here.
Room to Try, Learn & Enjoy One of the things I love about creating is that it gives us permission to slow down and focus on what is right in front of us. You don’t have to be an artist. You don’t need experience, and you certainly don’t have to make something perfect. There is joy in choosing your colors, learning a skill, working through a mistake, and discovering what you can do.
Through our workshops and gatherings, I hope to make room for that kind of joy—for children discovering something new, adults reconnecting with a creative interest, and friends making memories while their hands are busy. The finished project is something you get to take home. The time you spent making it matters, too.
A Place for Our Community
Five Arrows is also a place to appreciate the creativity and care that exist right here in our community. Behind a locally made item is a person who spent time imagining it, learning how to make it, and putting care into the details. Being able to give local makers a place to share their work is a meaningful part of this business. I hope Five Arrows becomes somewhere familiar—a place you think of when you need a thoughtful gift, want to plan time with someone you love, or feel ready to try something different.
A community grows through people showing up for one another.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of that here in Caro.
Thank You for Being Part of Our Story There is a lot of heart behind Five Arrows Hangout. This is a personal dream, one connected to my faith, my family, and my hope for what we can build together. When you walk through the door, reserve a workshop, purchase something from a local maker, tell a friend about us, or offer a kind word, it matters. You are helping a small family business grow, and you are helping make this space possible. I don’t take that support for granted.
Thank you for getting to know the heart behind Five Arrows. I look forward to meeting you, hearing a little of your story, and helping you make a few happy memories here.
Come create something, spend time together, and make yourself at home.
There’s a place for you at Five Arrows.
With Love,
Laura
